Space Applications Centre

Atmosphere
The study of Atmospheric Sciences is a major programme of the centre. The centre develops state of art techniques for the analysis and forecasting of the weather and climate from regional to global scales using various satellite data. The space based inputs are used by IMD and other agencies for their forecasts.

Some of the major application are:
atm1
Model predicted seasonal rainfall (left) with IMD observation (right)

atm2
An example of Cloudburst in Jammu and Kashmir (12 May 2016)

atm3
Real-time predicted track of TC ROANU at different initial condition
atm4
Short term Model forecast of wind and sea level pressure
