Waste to Wealth Program (1st-2nd August 2023)

Introduction :

As we countdown to 15th August 2023, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav aims to further boost this people's movement through collaborative campaigns & outreach across India & the world. Various campaigns on the lines of nine critical themes including Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) theme as well, alligns with 'Panch Pran' was announced by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India. Space Applications Centre contributed towards "Waste to Wealth" LiFE theme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by planning & organising two days program with an objective to create awareness among school children. The two days program on "Waste to Wealth" was organised by SAC in joint collaboration with GUJCOST & Gujarat Science City on 1st and 2nd August 2023 at Gujarat Science City. Expert talks were delivered on both days by Ms Hetanshi Bhavsar from NEPRA and Dr. Neeraj Agarwal from SAC under the theme of "Waste to Wealth" to spread awareness among children. A large no. of school students participated enthusiastically in various competitions i.e. Coloring competition & Drawing competition on Day-01 and Elocution & Model Making competition on day-02.

The program was organised by 'Waste to wealth' Committee of AKAM chaired by Shri Ravi Kumar Varma. Mrs Richa Srivastava, Member Secretary AKAM@SAC, coordinated this entire program with GUJCOST & Gujarat Science City, on behalf of AKAM Committee at SAC. This Organizing Committee worked under the overall guidance of Shri Nilesh M Desai, Director SAC & Dr Dhani Ram Rajak, Chairman, Standing Committee AKAM@SAC.
