Space Applications Centre organized a webinar in hybrid mode on 18th April 2023 to celebrate the success of maiden flight of GSLV-D1 with GSAT-1 onboard launched on 18th April 2001. The keynote speaker of the webinar was Shri K.S. Parikh, Former Associate Director, SAC. He delivered the lecture on "The Genesis of Communication Satellite Payloads and Future Advances.". He enlightened the audience with his experiences in the field of Satellite Communication.

This webinar was organized in collaboration with various scientific societies such as SSME, IMS Ahmedabad Chapter, ISG Ahmedabad Chapter, ISRS Ahmedabad Chapter and ISSE Ahmedabad Chapter under the overall guidance of Shri Nilesh Desai, Director SAC, Dr. Dhani Ram Rajak AKAM Chairperson. More than 300 participants attended the webinar in offline/online mode.
