Space Application Centre (SAC) celebrated National Technology Day with the theme "Integrated Approach in Science & Technology for Sustainable Future" by organizing a seminar on "Space Quantum Frontiers" in hybrid mode under the banner of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 19th May 2022. This was celebrated jointly by SAC, Ahmedabad and Directorate of Technology Development and Innovation (DTDI), ISRO HQ

The seminar was inaugurated by Shri S. Somnath, Chairman, ISRO and Secretary, Department of Space. Prof. Tarun Souradeep, Director, Raman Research Institute was the Guest of Honour for the function and Shri. N. M. Desai, Director SAC, Shri Raghu Metei, Dy. Director, DTDI ISRO were the other dignitaries who graced the function by their presence.

More than 500 participants from ISRO, academia, industry, R&D organizations attended the program. A short documentary on "Quantum Communication" developed by SAC and DECU was also released.

Technical lectures and panel discussion by experts were held on various topics related to the Quantum Technology. Usefulness of quantum technology, especially space based quantum technologies for cosmology studies, vision for Space based quantum communication in the country, when quantum computers will become accessible and affordable including the major challenges towards this, the current status of quantum computation using superconducting circuits in India, etc. were some of the topics discussed in the panel discussion, which were well received by the participants
