Communication Programme


Having recognised the importance of TV broadcast via satellite as tool for mass education in India, program known as Experimental Satellite communication Earth Station was started. In the year 1983, the various experiments carried out in past matured and resulted in operational Indian National Satellite (INSAT) system with multipurpose and multi-user satellites as its main stay. Today the INSAT/GSAT systems are providing services in diverse fields including but not limited to:

  • Broadcasting(TV and Radio)

  • Search and rescue
  • Tele-medicine
  • Tele-education
  • Satellite navigation
