Environmental Test Facility

Environmental Test Facilities have been established to simulate the effects of ground as well as on-orbit environments for space hardware and various climatic & transportation environments for ground hardware. The test and evaluation includes test on cards/subsystem level and on the integrated payloads subjecting them to rigorous testing and exposure to harsh environments to qualify them for intended space applications.

• Thermo-Vacuum Test Facility

Thermal Vacuum tests are carried out on any space hardware to qualify its space worthiness and assure its quality and reliability. The size of the chambers varies from 0.5m to 5.5m diameter. This facility caters to testing like

-    Vacuum Baking Test
-    Thermal Cycling Test
-    High Power Test
-    Multipaction Test
-    Corona Test












• Climatic Test Facility

These chambers are used for climatic testing, screening of electronic components, process qualification related testing and Aging/Stress reliving of fabricated parts. This facility caters to various types of climatic tests like

-    Hot Storage/ Operational Test
-    Cold Storage/ Operational Test
-    Temperature Cycling Test
-    Humidity Cycling Chamber
-    Thermal Shock Chamber
-    Heat Treatment of Invar component
-    Burn in Test













• Vibration and Shock Test Facility

The facility has established vibration shaker systems of different capacities from 180 Kgf to 9 ton force capacities to meet the test requirement of various sizes of packages of different projects. The tests carried out are Sine, Random and Mechanical Shock.
