Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition (VSSE)
 
Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition (VSSE) at Space Applications Centre has been designed to increase awareness about space programme of ISRO/DOS, for general public and for student community in particular. VSSE was inaugurated by Dr. K. KASTURIRANGAN, the then Chairman ISRO & Secretary Dept. of Space, on  August 11, 2000.
 
Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition (VSSE) at Space Applications Centre is kept open for general public and the student community on all working days from 10.00 hrs to 13.00 hrs. (Saturdays and Sundays are holidays)
 
Various working models and static models of satellites and various backlit panels in Gujarati and English language  are displayed here which explain about the organisation & functioning of ISRO and its centres.
 
 
 

Following special functions are organized during the year at VSSE :

Celebration of National Science day  on February 28
VSSE is kept open from 10.00 to 17.00 hrs with various video film shows on our space programme
Celebration of National Technology Day on May 11

VSSE is kept open from 10.00 to 17.00 hrs with various video film shows on our space programme

During the celebration of National Technology Day, Sometimes, we organize special Video conference is organised between SAC Ahmedabad and other centres of ISRO in the country

Generally science teachers from various schools and eminent personalities working in the field of science from Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Vadodara participate in this programme
World Space Week celebration during October 4th – 10th

As recommended by UNISPACE –III and as per policy of ISRO/DOS, since last 6 years, Space Applications Centre (SAC) has been celebrating the World Space Week (4-10 October); in order to popularize the contribution of ISRO/DOS in space research, technology and its applications, for the general public and the student community, in particular.

For creating awareness about the achievements of ISRO / DOS, which are beneficial to the society, following programme are planned and organised during this period.

1.

VSSE is kept open from 10.00 to 17.00 hrs with various video film shows on our space programme

Face to face interactions with senior scientists between 17.00 to 18.30 hrs.
 
Popular literature and publicity material is distributed to the visitors.
2.
Popular lectures are arranged by speakers like eminent scientist/engineers working in different scientific institutions, on various topics
