A two day SAC - Electronics, Software and Allied Industries Meet was organized by Technology Transfer and Industry Interface Division (TTID), PPG, SAC on 21 & 22 February 2008. Close to 100 senior level functionaries from 60 Indian Industries, and 150 senior staff members from SAC participated in the Meet. 

The Meet started with address by Shri A. S. Kiran Kumar, Chairman, Steering Committee on “Relevance of the Meet to ISRO’s Programmes”. Dr R R Navalgund, Director, SAC then inaugurated the Meet. This was followed by “Overview of SAC - Industry Interface” by P. Paniker, Head, TTID; and “Marketing India’s Space Products and Services Abroad: Role of Antrix” by Shri K. R. Sridhara Murti, Managing Director, Antrix Corporation, Bangalore.

In the subsequent sessions, engineers from SAC presented requirements of systems, subsystems - both hardware and software, and services that SAC is looking forward to source from Indian Industry, for next 5 to 6 years for its space and ground based projects. Individual Industry representatives presented their capabilities in the subsequent session. This was followed by visits to selected labs/facilities; and a One-on-One, where Industry representatives were given time to discuss on specific items of their interest in detail, with SAC counterparts. In the Concluding Session, few Industry representatives presented their views, and finally Director, SAC summed up the path for future.

The Meet paved the way for larger Industry participation in SAC’s programmes and projects in the coming years.
